bIRC is a modern IRC client for macOS with extensive IRCv3 support. Features • Multi-profile • Multi-window and split view • iCloud sync. • JavaScript scripting API. • Color schemes and fonts, with optional custom CSS. • On-device, searchable message history, mentions, scrollback, and per-conversation read tracking. • Bouncer support, including ZNC and soju (with soju network management). • SOCKS5, SOCKS4, and HTTP proxy support, including Tor with remote DNS. • Notifications: banners, Dock badge, and per-event sounds, with per-network and per-channel muting. • DCC file transfers and chat: send, receive, resume, passive mode, and routing through a proxy. • Ignore and highlight: keywords, regular expressions, and per-channel scopes, with optional highlight-spam suppression. • Accessibility: VoiceOver announcements, adjustable text size, and Reduce Motion. IRCv3 • Authentication: SASL — PLAIN, EXTERNAL (CertFP), SCRAM-SHA-256, and OAUTHBEARER. STS auto-upgrade to TLS, STARTTLS • Transport: WebSocket support • Messages: message tags and IDs, server-time, echo-message, labeled-response, standard replies, and batches. • History: CHATHISTORY with event playback, read markers (MARKREAD), multi-line messages, and message redaction. • Presence and membership: account-notify, account-tag, away-notify, extended-join, chghost, MONITOR (and extended-monitor), multi-prefix, userhost-in-names, invite-notify, setname, WHOX, bot mode, and account extbans. • Client tags: typing indicators, threaded replies with jump-to-parent, reactions, and channel-context. • More: metadata (avatar, color, pronouns, status), network icons, channel rename, account registration, FILEHOST uploads, and pre-away. Privacy: bIRC connects only to the servers it is configured with. No analytics, no tracking, no account. Remote content — avatars, inline images, link previews etc, is off by default — when enabled it is fetched over HTTPS, through a configured proxy if one is set.
