Today, Upcoming, and Inbox - Manual reordering works again on iPhone and iPad: with Sort By set to Manual, press and hold a task and drag it to a new spot, and it stays there. Before, the task sprang back to its old place the moment you let go, even though the new order was saved and showed up after a relaunch (tester video). The same fix applies inside the Past Due and Today sections and to a reorder synced from another device Smart Lists - Tasks with a start date now show up in your own smart lists the same way they do in Today: a list with a Today, Tomorrow, This Week, Next Week, or date-range filter includes a task on every day from its start date through its due date (tester report: a task that had started was in Today but missing from "Today + Priority"). Overdue still goes by the due date alone. Widgets follow the same rule iPhone and iPad - Tapping the empty space under a list or board column no longer starts a new task; that stays a Mac feature. On iPad, tapping empty space now closes the open task instead, the same as tapping between board columns - The task pane's close button on iPad now points right, the direction the pane slides away (down stays for the iPhone sheet) - Closing the task pane with a swipe on iPad is more forgiving: a slightly diagonal swipe or a quick flick now counts, and a two-finger swipe on the screen works as well as on the trackpad

Cover Images - Cover image size per project: Project Info now offers Left Strip (as before), Square, or Widescreen (16:9). Square and Widescreen sit across the top of the card with the task details below. Every card on that board follows the choice, on all your devices. The chooser shows a small preview card for each layout - Use Clipboard: when a picture is on the clipboard, the cover image chooser offers it directly, alongside Photo Library and Choose File Notes - Images in Notes (Settings ▸ Appearance): keep the compact cards, or choose Larger Previews to see the pictures themselves in the note. With previews on, right-click (Mac) or press and hold (iPhone, iPad) a picture to make it Small (a third of the note's width) or Large (the full width of the text). The choice is saved with the note, so every device shows it the same way - Code blocks now sit on a rounded slab with breathing room around the text and clear space above and below the block; inline code and highlights get a snug rounded box around the words instead of a full-height strip - Text typed right after turning a line into a code block stays in the block Today and Calendar - Tasks with a start date now join Today on the day they start and stay there every day through the due date, so Today works as a daily to-do list. They only turn overdue once the due date passes. Upcoming shows what hasn't started or come due yet - The calendar shows a task on its start date (marked "Starts") as well as on its due date; drag the Starts chip to move the start date - Tasks with a due time show the time on their calendar tile, in red once it has passed Recovery - Restore from Local Backup: if Kan Do ever can't open its database, the recovery screen now offers this device's own verified backups (the daily snapshots plus the copies kept before Sync Repair or an iCloud re-download). Pick one, confirm, and Kan Do puts it back and opens; a copy of the database it replaced is kept first. Works on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro, and needs neither another device nor iCloud - Changes made after the backup that already reached iCloud come back as sync catches up Smart Lists - Dated subtasks now appear in your own smart lists whenever the list has a Date or Time filter (for example "Today + Priority"), the same way they already do in Today and Upcoming. The subtask is matched on its own due date; tags, priority, flag, and project come from its parent task Shortcuts - Edit Task: change a task's title, subtitle, note, due date and time, priority, flag, link, tags, column, cover image, or completion from a shortcut. Fields you leave blank stay as they are - Get Selected Tasks: returns whatever is selected in Kan Do right now, so a shortcut can act on the tasks you just picked - Task links: every Task variable now has a Link property (kando://task/…), and a Get Task Link action returns it on its own - Tag Names: Add Task and Edit Task accept tags as text, one per item, so tags can come from an earlier action. A name that matches nothing creates the tag - Project Name: Add Task accepts the project as text, so a project from Find List or any earlier action drops straight in Fixes - Exported project files now include each task's subtasks, and importing a file brings them back - Dividers can be dragged again on iPhone and iPad: press and hold the line, then drag it between cards, the same way cards move. Task Start - Give a task a start date and time alongside its due date (Task Details ▸ Start Date). It shows on cards and rows, and Alert at Start sends a notification when the start arrives, so you get a reminder ahead of the due date App Icon - iPhone and iPad: Settings ▸ Appearance ▸ Theme ▸ App Icon lets you pick the Home Screen icon. Tags can now be nested inside other tags, as many levels deep as you like, and every level keeps its own icon and color. CLAUDE & MCP CONNECTOR (MAC) - The Mac app now includes a helper that lets AI assistants (Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cowork) read and change your spaces, projects, columns, and tasks, including subtasks, locations, links, and cover images. - Settings ▸ Connector shows the one-line command or configuration to copy. Everything stays on your Mac and syncs through iCloud like any other edit. MULTI-SELECT CONTEXT MENU - With several tasks selected, right-click or long-press one of them for Flag/Unflag, Priority, Due Date (Today, Tomorrow, Next Week, Pick Date & Time…, Remove), Move to, Add Tag with New Tag…, Export Attachments, and Delete, all applied to every selected task. - Works on the board, in project lists, and in the smart lists. TAGS FROM THE CONTEXT MENU - Right-click or long-press a task and choose Add Tag to see every tag you have. Tap one to add it, or tap a checked one to remove it. - New Tag… at the bottom creates a tag, attaches it to the task, and opens the tag editor so you can name it and pick its icon and color. CALENDAR - Month and week views show tasks as their board cards (title, subtitle, tags, priority, flag, and note, attachment, and link badges) wherever a day column is wide enough. Narrow layouts keep the compact chips, and subtasks always stay chips. - Settings ▸ General ▸ Calendar Opens In picks Week or Month for every visit, or Last Used to keep whatever you left it on. SUBTASKS - Drag the grip at the right of a subtask to reorder your checklist, both under the note header and in Task Details. NOTES - Inline code and code blocks no longer turn into unreadable black boxes when a note written on another device is opened. The code background is now the same soft gray everywhere, and existing notes are corrected as they load. DIVIDERS - Adding a divider to a column sorted by due date, priority, or title now switches that column back to Manual order so the divider appears. It used to be added invisibly. DUE DATES - Pick Date & Time… from a task's context menu now opens at full height on iPhone, so the calendar, Set Time, and the Cancel/Set buttons are all visible. PROJECTS - Right-click or long-press a project in the sidebar and choose New Project in Space to add a sibling project without going up to the space. SHORTCUTS - The Add Task action gains Subtitle, Location (Current Location, a searched place, or a location from an earlier action), and Attachments (any files; each becomes an attachment on the new task). - The Get Tasks action's List field now offers Inbox and Flagged alongside Today and Upcoming, and can still be left blank for every open task.

Search is Here! Tap the magnifying glass on the main screen to search everything: projects, tasks, notes, and tags. Toggle on Completed or Archived to find more results, and tap any result to jump to that task on its board. Bigger Attachments Notes can now hold files up to 75 MB each - PDFs, videos, documents, anything. Attachments sync reliably across all your devices as their own lightweight records. A smoother way to add tasks - Clicking "Add task" now closes any open task panel and highlights the field so Return always creates your task - New tasks scroll into view at the bottom of their column - Choose where the big + button sends new tasks: the Unsorted column or your first column (Settings ▸ General) Columns - Right-click or long-press on any column to open its menu. - There are new "Archive All Tasks" and "Unarchive All Tasks" options. - When you delete a column, the system asks if you want to archive or delete its tasks. Duplicate a task Right‑click (or long‑press) any task and choose Duplicate. The copy keeps the title, subtitle, notes, links, cover image, tags, due date and reminders, priority, flag, and repeat rule, and lands right below the original. On Mac, ⌘D duplicates the selected task. Undo removes the copy. A better due‑date picker Pick Date & Time… in the Due Date menu now opens a compact popup: type a date or click one on the calendar, and check Set Time only when a time matters. Leave it unchecked and the task is due on that day with no time attached. Smoother boards Fixed the jerky horizontal scrolling on iOS and Mac — columns no longer snap to the left edge while you swipe. Control Center The New Task control now reliably opens Kan Do straight into a fresh Inbox task, whether the app is running or not. Checklists in notes In a task's notes, pressing Return on a checkbox line adds a new checkbox; press Return again on an empty box to go back to plain text — just like bullets and numbered lists. Links to files The Links section now accepts a path to a file or folder on your Mac (/Users/you/… or ~/…). Click it to reveal the item in Finder. Smaller things - Adding a divider places it below the selected task instead of always at the top of the column. - "Add Tag" is now "Edit Tags" everywhere. - Task Details moved from ⌘D to ⌘I on Mac to make room for Duplicate.

iCloud sync, rebuilt - Changes from your other devices now appear in place. No more full-screen refreshes, lost cursor position, or menus closing on you mid-action. - Edits are saved field-by-field, so a change on one device can no longer quietly overwrite a newer change from another. If two devices edit the same note at once, both versions are kept. - Reordering tasks now updates only the moved card, so boards stay in the same order everywhere. - Fixed crashes when a task was deleted remotely while it was open, when using a card's right-click menu, and when the app was suspended in the background on iPhone and iPad. - The app now recovers gracefully instead of crashing if the database can't be opened, and never starts with an empty board over your data. Creating tasks - New: "New Task" in every column's options menu adds a task at the top of the column and puts the cursor straight in the title. - On iPhone and iPad, the Add task box now adds one task per Done: the keyboard dismisses and you're back on the board. - Brand-new tasks open with the title ready to type. Selecting and moving - Drag any card in a multi-selection and the whole selection moves with it, in order. - Mac: Shift-click selects a range of cards; Command-click still toggles individual cards. Icons - Spaces, projects, and columns can now use any SF Symbol. Thousands of icons, browsable by category (Weather, Nature, Home, Commerce and more) with search across the full set. Your existing suggested picks are still one tap away. Sidebar and typography - New sliders in Settings > Typography: Space Size, Project Size, and Project Line Height to tune the sidebar exactly how you like it. - Projects sit further indented under their space. - Mac: sidebar rows now fade at the edges and stop above the Select / Archive / Add footer instead of scrolling underneath it. Select is text-sized and the icons slightly larger. Notes - If a note can't be saved when you close it (sync conflict, note too large), you're no longer stuck. Choose Keep Editing, Close Anyway (a recovery copy is kept), or Discard. - The note editor no longer writes an empty note if encoding fails. Widgets, Watch, Share sheet and Shortcuts - Widgets and the Share extension read the database safely alongside the app and no longer freeze it during launch. - Share sheet keeps multiple attachments and no longer duplicates text on retry. - Shortcuts refuse to create half-built or un-syncable tasks and report why. - The Spotlight index no longer clears itself if indexing is interrupted. Fixes - One Settings item in the Mac app menu (was two). - One Done button when creating a space, project, or column on Mac (was two). - No more brief "Nothing here yet" or "0" flashes while data loads. The Tag editor no longer closes itself on open. - Attachment filenames are sanitized, and oversized attachments are rejected up front so a task never becomes un-syncable.

• Recurring tasks: set any task with a due date to repeat (hourly, daily, weekdays, weekends, weekly, biweekly, monthly, every 3 or 6 months, yearly, or a custom interval). Select multiple tasks: On Mac, ⌘-click tasks to build a selection, then right-click to act on all of them. On iPhone and iPad, tap the new Select button in the toolbar, then move, complete, tag, or delete several tasks at once. Undo task deletion: Deleted the wrong task? Press ⌘Z on Mac, shake or three-finger swipe on iPhone and iPad, or tap Undo in the new confirmation banner. Tasks come back exactly as they were, tags and all. Task links: Every task now has its own link. Choose "Copy Link" from a task's menu or "Get Task URL" in Task Details, then use it in Shortcuts, notes, or messages to jump straight to that task. More powerful right-click and long-press menus: Set priority, add tags, add or change a cover image, and copy a task's link without opening the task. Add tags in bulk: Apply a tag to every selected task at once, including from the smart list selection bar. Better Shortcuts actions: The Column field now only shows columns from the project you picked, and the new "Open Task After Creating" option opens Kan Do focused on your newly created task. Smoother boards: Cards now gracefully fade out as they scroll toward the top of a column instead of overlapping the column title. Fixes: Link entry in Task Details is now left-aligned with a proper placeholder, and the add-task buttons on Apple Vision Pro stay visible in Light Mode.
