The eighth-generation iPad Mini (stylized and marketed as iPad mini (A19 Pro) and colloquially referred to as iPad Mini 8) is a tablet computer in the iPad Mini line that is going to be designed, developed, manufactured, and marketed by Apple.^[1] It will be announced in October 2026, and it is going to use an OLED Display and water resistance,^[2]^[3] which it will serve Its predecessor, the seventh-generation iPad Mini.

History

Reports about the next-generation iPad Mini started emerging around the time of the iPhone event in 2025. There were speculations that the next iPad Mini was to come with an A19 Pro^[4] or an A20 Pro chip.^[5] Other reports included the inclusion of an OLED display,^[6] a vibration-based speaker system,^[7] and water resistance.^[8]^[9]

Early reports of production began to surface in June 2026, with the manufacturing of the OLED displays for the iPad Mini.^[10]

In July 2026, it was reported that Apple would launch the OLED iPad Mini in October 2026,^[11]^[12] and that the iPad Mini was to come with a 60Hz display.^[13]^[14]

In August 2026, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman stated that the OLED iPad Mini would go on sale by late-October 2026.^[2]^[3]
