• The Italian town is larger than the others, but the article quality is barely any better. Google Books search doesn't bring up anything of substance to indicate a primary topic. I checked WikiNav, it barely renders with so little data. meta:Research:Wikipedia clickstream archive shows next to nothing for the last 12 months - all I learned is that people come here from three articles, all of which are local to the place. • Oppose. See WP:DETERMINEPRIMARY (Usage in English-language reliable sources matters the most.) Simple general Google search shows that Arzano is primary topic. The same is shown by specific sources (New York Times, BBC), and it doesn't matter that the presence of Arzano is not very large.

This analysis alone should be enough, but I can repeat that the Italian town is significantly larger than the others and its page views are also significantly higher, enough to call it primary topic (see analysis in the previous post: in the last year daily average 9.7 views for Italian Arzano, 1.4 view for French Arzano, 4.2 views for Aržano). Moreover, Aržano in Croatia has a different spelling of its name and it is important to take that into account. I agree that the Italian town's page is of poor quality, but this is never an argument when determining primary topic. FromCzech (talk) 09:26, 7 September 2026 (UTC)

Btw if part of the Giro d'Italia race were to pass through Arzano in 2027, it would significantly increase media coverage and page views, as examples from this year show. FromCzech (talk) 09:37, 7 September 2026 (UTC)

You have to specify what those links show for you, because they show different things for different people.

For example, for me, that nytimes.com search link shows two references to the Dalmatian village, two to the Italian town, then two people named Arzano, etc. The bbc.co.uk shows a single reference to the Italian town and nothing else at all.

The page views difference is just not significant, the overall volume is trivial. It's hard to imagine an average English reader being confused if we don't show them the Italian town article. --Joy (talk) 10:27, 7 September 2026 (UTC)

When I search for "Arzano" in Google, out of the first 50 or so hits, I only get two that are not the Italian town. In the NY Times, I see four hits for Italian Arzano (but I'm only counting from previews, I'm not registered user) and only one for Aržano. BBC has one hit (the second one is a weather forecast, I overlooked that), but Reuters has two (1, 2), one has The Guardian, two has The Telegraph ... the point is that the Italian Arzano appears in the media, but the French one does not. Oppose – I disagree with the claim that page views (sorted by monthly views) support this move. This article draws more than double the views of the other articles. Granted, some views will be from readers intending to go to the other articles, but most of the other views are for Aržano, for which we have WP:SMALLDETAILS to separate the topics. The news reporting evidence also supports keeping things as they currently are. With all that in mind, a hatnote is enough, as it can be done with just one line of text (WP:TWOOTHER); a DAB page would not be saving readers any clicks, as anyone typing "Arzano" trying to get to Aržano still needs exactly one extra click to get where they want. –Maltazarian ^{ᚾparley$\lor$investigateᛅ} 00:00, 17 September 2026 (UTC)
