It is a very long-established consensus via WP:FOOTY and WP:MOSETHNICITY that secondary citizenships are not mentioned in the ledes of footballers. If a player was born in one country but represents another internationally, the nationality in the lede becomes ambiguous and the phrase "Born in [birth country], he plays for the [new national team]." So adding a hyphenated nationality both goes against consensus and complicates the lede unnecessarily. Anwegmann (talk) 15:36, 11 October 2025 (UTC)

About the warnings

I don't know why @Anwegmann started right off with a "level 3" warning and went to "level 4" over your edits. I know it's frustrating for a new editor to have so many edits, which seemed to be reasonable ones, to be reversed right way, especially when no explanation was given in the initial round of edit summaries. With that said, it's a good idea, when your changes are reverted for reasons that are unclear to you to inquire, either on the talk page of one of the articles or on the talk page of the user who reverted you, as to their reason. In any event, multiple rounds of two or more editors reverting each other is considered WP:edit warring, which is considered disruptive and can itself lead to your being blocked, especially if you the three-revert rule. The Sri Lankan Portuguese Creole articles

Regarding your edits to the articles relating to the Portuguese creole in Sri Lanka, I find substantial evidence that it's considered in academic sources to be one of the languages making up the family known as the Indo-Portuguese creoles, regardless of the technicality that Sri Lanka isn't and never was treated as part of India. The native languages underlying it, after all, each belong to one of the two major language families to which most of the languages of India belong, and there is presumably a lot of shared history and contact leading to familial similarities. Consider that Persian is a language of neither Europe nor India, yet it is classified as an Indo-European language. Largoplazo (talk) 17:15, 11 October 2025 (UTC)
