After reviewing the sources, I feel like this article is WP:TOOSOON. Kotaku and IGN are reliable in this circumstance, however I have doubts over whether the channel itself is notable. I reason that the events and the supposed $118K bill are the primary topic of these sources. Additionally, now that the mass media are calling into question the validity of the statements claimed, I think that any attempt at any assertion made to the lasting prominence of the topic is WP:CRYSTAL. TansoShoshen (talk) 22:23, 24 September 2026 (UTC)reply

Comment Generally, I think this topic is notable enough for a Wikipedia page, but not for a standalone biography. That said, Mighty Mike Plays is still probably the most plausible common name to refer to the incident where he allegedly racked up an $118k bill. Also, both of the sources on Kotaku and IGN have Mighty Mike Plays as the sole topic of the respective articles, as opposed to just a brief mention. I wouldn't necessarily say its future notability is WP:CRYSTAL. If the channel is later determined by sources to be a scam, the article can be updated accordingly. Far-right subcultures (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)
(Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)

This article's scope is incomprehensible and there is nothing worth salvaging. Also, every sentence in this article I have checked has had some sort of OR/SYNTH/failed verification issue.

Almost nothing in this article refers to subcultures at all except for 1 paragraph on white power skinheads, which we have a better article on. The rest of the article has nothing to do with subcultures at all, at least outside of how the "far-right" movement altogether can be considered subculture; if taken with that broader scope in mind it is simply duplicative of far-right politics. The rest of this article is made up entirely of sections on far-right organizations that aren't even subcultures (any more than the the rest of the far-right is) and a totally random section on fashion labels that also has nothing to do with subcultures.

A complete trainwreck. If this topic is even notable there is not a sentence in the article that would be useful to an article in it. PARAKANYAA (talk) 21:45, 24 September 2026 (UTC)reply

Nominating on behalf of a non-AC editor; I haven't reviewed the article and have no current opinion. Their rationale follows:

The article was deleted in 2020 because academic notability had not been established. I do not see evidence that his scholarly work has since had the significant independent impact required by WP:NACADEMIC. The later coverage appears to focus largely on controversies involving his statements, employment, and allegations concerning Jason Arday. I would like the community to assess whether the sources published since 2020 establish enduring notability for a standalone biography under WP:GNG, or chiefly document those controversies. (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)

I propose merging with Kinneret Subdistrict as Kinerot is a natural region within the subdistrict. Current sources are mostly (3/4) statistical and administrative information that can be covered in the existing article. Without SIGCOV I can't see how a standalone article is necessary. ScottyNolan (talk) 20:15, 24 September 2026 (UTC)reply

Keep article. Merging with the subdistrict article wouldn't work, since including all the information in both the Kinerot article and the Eastern Lower Galilee article in the Kinneret Subdistrict article would make the latter longer than it needs to be. And there are some subdistricts in Israel with more than two natural regions - the Jezreel Subdistrict has seven natural regions and the Acre Subdistrict has six. Trying to cram all the information about those natural regions into the Subdistrict articles would turn those Subdistrict articles into WP:Coatrack articles (i.e. too much of the articles would be focused on the natural regions). It's better to have each natural region have its own article, and to be consistent across the whole country. The article right now is just the bare-bones, and more stuff can be added to it to demonstrate SIGCOV. ProudNewEnglander (talk) 21:18, 24 September 2026 (UTC)reply

(Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)

The track Photoshop Handsome is a 2009 track on the debut album of British indie pop band Everything Everything. I propose merging to Everything Everything because other than one legit BBC source contributing to notability, there is nothing else, or at least, I cannot find anything else supporting notability. The entire (minimal) content of the article reflects the opinion of one music reviewer about the meaning of the song. That is not the encyclopedic content Wikipedia is about; it is just regurgitating the reviewer's opinions. That one source alone is not sufficient for notability, imho. Note that due to the high volume of music industry online catalogs and trivial links to the track, it is difficult to search for valid sources; in particular, the "find sources" links above are useless. See my search attempt. Mathglot (talk) 19:11, 24 September 2026 (UTC)reply

Oh, here's one more. That may help with notability in a back-handed sort of way, as it is mostly about how another band did a cover that was better, but still. A couple more serious reviews would help. Otoh, this one doesn't help meet WP:NSUSTAINED, as it is also from 2009, and if there isn't anything post-2010 (when the album was released), that would count against keeping. (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)

I propose merging to Affine bundle because the article is a long-standing stub with a single source and the subject is likely not notable enough to merit its own article. However, there are complications. I originally set this article for WP:PROD because it is a stub written almost entirely by a single editor in 2013, and it appears to be copied near-verbatim from a single source from around the same time, itself seemingly written by the editor (though there is no reason to doubt its legitimacy). Thus there are elements of WP:SELFCITE and WP:NOR if not WP:PLAG. Nonetheless, it probably should have a place somewhere on Wikipedia because it is cited by a number of other articles, mainly those on physical theories using this mathematical construction. (Many of those articles were also largely written by the same editor and cite his work, so may have similar issues, but they generally have additional independent sources.) Keep. While the company is in the initial stages, such is the case for most quantum computing companies that are not Google or IBM or Microsoft's quantum branches. Having a PhD in quantum technologies myself, and having attended quantum engineering conferences recently where the number of mentions of IQM quantum computing was very many (tens if not a hundred). Comparing to contemporaneous QC companies such as Quantinuum (founded 2021) and IonQ (founded 2015), IQM Quantum Computers was founded in 2018. The other companies have extensive articles already. So the spirit here should be to improve this IQM article instead of deleting it. It is indeed a pioneer of the European QC company ecosystem. To support my case, I put more secondary sources that satisfy WP:CORPDEPTH and are not authored by the CEO or co-founder of the company (some initial sources in the article were indeed press releases by IQM)

This is not a useful disambiguation, Planetary Data System and International Planetary Data Alliance are partial title matches and not plausibly referred to just as "Planetary Data". The creating edit summary, "Creating disambiguation page for "Planetary Data" - as article containing this data is currently titled "List of gravitationally rounded objects of the Solar System" - which may not be the keyword many may use when searching for our solar system's planetary data factsheet", suggests that the goal was to redirect planetary data -> List of gravitationally rounded objects of the Solar System#Planets, which is a reasonable redirect, but this is not a reasonable DAB. ~ A412 talk! 18:55, 24 September 2026 (UTC)reply

StyleHaul (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)
(Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)

Nominating this page for multiple reasons:

- No widespread coverage of StyleHaul outside of 2019 when a company executive was arrested for embezzling funds and the company shutdown.

- StyleHaul's current sources and past sources are blatant advertisements of StyleHaul's success, AKA WP:NPOV

- The article was nearly subject of an AfD per the article's edit history

- The article was originally created by somebody involved to StyleHaul and it was very likely created with the sole reason of attempting to make StyleHaul look more credible to its future clients, AKA WP:YESPROMO

- Recently used as part of a phishing scheme, and while this is not a valid reason:

- There is 100% at the very least a second instance of an article for a marketing company who are now defunct, originally created by themselves as a promotion, who then had their article edited by malicious actors. StyleHaul's article is just one that happened to be found.

I've attempted to bring this up in the Incident noticeboard but the filter didn't let me publish it and the admin who handled the false positive post didn't seem interested in discussing it further somewhere else, so I'll point it out in this AfD that there should be an active effort in cracking down these attacks on Wikipedia.

How about this 2015 Los Angeles Times article that I find running in North Dakota, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, New Jersey, and Texas? -- Nat Gertler (talk) 20:03, 24 September 2026 (UTC) Expanding comment: that someone said an article was eligible for AfD in 2013 is of no visible importance, particularly given that the current sourcing, as well as the article I pointed to, is all from after that point. That the article might have begun as promo is also not relevant, as there is perhaps one sentence in the article as it stands ("It gained recognition as an early pioneer of branded content and native advertising on digital platforms") that could be described that way (that sentence may well be axed, as it is sourced to a WP:FORBESCON piece). This is not the place to request semi-protection, but I suspect if you went to WP:RPP, it would be noted that you're dealing with a single, months-old attack. -- Nat Gertler (talk) 20:17, 24 September 2026 (UTC)reply

He seems to have been largely erased from the Huddersfield web site, and I can't tell where he has gone after that; that would not be an obstacle to notability if he had already achieved it, but it does make it difficult to maintain a verifiable and up-to-date article. —David Eppstein (talk) 19:52, 24 September 2026 (UTC)reply

If you look a little closer you will see that the article starts with "Hellenistic Greece is the historical period of Ancient Greece following Classical Greece". There is no such a thing as a period named "Hellenistic Greece". There is Greece in the Hellenistic period. You should also address the lack of sources. I propose redirecting to 2026 Iowa gubernatorial election. As before, he currently fails WP:NPOL. The coverage here is all about his campaign/candidacy. He does not otherwise meet WP:GNG. Nothing substantive has changed since the last AFD. If he wins, he gets an article. But not now. Marquardtika (talk) 16:27, 16 September 2026 (UTC)reply

Keep: I am author of new article version. Prior version had many fewer sources. This version removed promotional material and added ~15 new sources, mostly substantive coverage during & after the primary. Substantial coverage includes extensive profiles in local, national, and international sources: Des Moines Register (x2), HuffPo, The Guardian, The Independent, Iowa Public Radio, Kansas Reflector (x2), MS Now, NBC, NYTimes, Politico, Time, The Times, Wall Street Journal (x2), WaPo (x2). Coverage clearly meets WP:GNG, so WP:NPOL does not apply. In addition: Lahn has a long, well-sourced history in the conservative movement (clearly passing WP:ONEEVENT) and clear historical interest as a right-wing populist who won an upset victory against a Trump-backed candidate, as a rare anti-"big ag" Republican, as a candidate in a heated 2026 governor race (very likely to pass WP:10YT). CopyleftEverything (talk) 03:25, 17 September 2026 (UTC)reply
Keep: Concur with author of article, Lahn has reached sufficient notability. Ageofultron 20:21, 17 September 2026 (UTC)reply
Redirect to 2026 Iowa gubernatorial election: He has done absolutely nothing of note besides this campaign. If he wins, he should get a page. This reads like campaign/promotional material. Hi Siguy10, welcome back to Wikipedia! This reads like campaign/promotional material. [...] [T]his article is substandard and is *extremely* sympathetic to him and his campaign. I strongly try to uphold WP:NPOV. The article follows the reliable sources, which detail Lahn's: Personal life; decade in Republican politics; Koch network ties; investment firm and private school; and "populist" political positions. What article content do you object to? He has done absolutely nothing of note besides this campaign. Does the candidate meet WP:GNG, per the sources above? If so, the article should be kept. CopyleftEverything (talk) 01:08, 19 September 2026 (UTC)reply
Thank you for the warm welcome! If I came off across as a little straightforward with my concerns, I did not intend to phrase it that way. Thank you for your responses, I still do not believe it upholds WP:NPOV, at least until he wins the race. I should have rephrased, some of the content in the article *seems* subjective, but I am reading deeper into the sourcing and it is how the articles describe him. While there could be some ways to rephrase his policy positions, that can definitely be a concern for after the election, as it's only around a month away. His stuff of note (Republican politics, Koch ties, Montessori school, investment firm), in my interpretation, do not fall under the guidelines, but I could be wrong. While I still believe this should be redirected to the main election page, I would be a strong proponent of using your article as the starter article for him if he wins, or wins something else in the future. All the best to you, and hopefully this comes to a satisfying resolution soon! Siguy10 (talk) 21:39, 19 September 2026 (UTC)reply

Hi @Enos733: In the prior discussion, you argued that the article does not meet WP:NPOL. This version of the article has many more sources with substantial coverage of Lahn's pre-campaign political and business career, and of Lahn's upset populist campaign. I list a dozen substantive articles above. Seems like extensive coverage to me. Why do you think the article fails WP:GNG? CopyleftEverything (talk) 16:15, 22 September 2026 (UTC)reply
I said in the last discussion: Winning a party primary does not meet NPOL, and similarly, defeating a Trump-endorsed candidate does not necessarily make a candidate notable. Only winning a general election to an office that passes NPOL is the criteria (see WP:CRYSTAL). I have always been on the believe that candidates for political office are not automatically notable and participation in an election is one event (recognizing a) that coverage within an election is not entirely discounted, and b) that coverage prior to an campaign counts too). - Enos733 (talk) 05:52, 23 September 2026 (UTC)reply
Hi @Enos733: Thank you for your reply. :) I agree that elections are WP:ONEEVENT. But:
    1. Lahn's pre-election political and business careers are now detailed and well-sourced, including sources before 2025 campaign.
    2. Lahn is a large participant in that one event. WP:ONEEVENT says: If the event is highly significant, and the individual's role within it is a large one, a separate article is generally appropriate. Lahn's political career, business investments, school management, and "MAHA" political views, have all become very important to the gubernatorial election.
Point 2 is why I believe we need some objective standard for "substantial coverage". Otherwise, how can we decide who had a "large role" in the election? CopyleftEverything (talk) 19:01, 24 September 2026 (UTC)reply
What traditionally this community has looked for is substantive coverage of the subject before they announced their candidacy. Coverage of a subject's career in the middle of the campaign is predominately campaign coverage. The questions in my mind are frequently, would a candidate meet WP:N without the campaign (or how close), and to what extent this person likely to remain a low profile individual should they lose their campaign. When the community addressed NSPORT, it concluded that mere participation in professional athletics or the Olympics was not sufficient to presume notability, and the same logic largely applies for political candidates - who they are, what their platform is, can all be located on the page about the election (and yes, I do feel many of our pages about the election can be greatly improved). - Enos733 (talk) 20:20, 24 September 2026 (UTC)reply

I propose merging to iJustine#300-page iPhone bill because the article fails WP:INDISCRIMINATE. While unquestionable that the article passes WP:GNG, it purports that the 300-page iPhone bill had some sort of effect on AT&T when the company denied it ever did, and vastly overstates the stream's effect on society. It even says that iJustine accidentally chose paper billing, which is what caused her to get the bill in the first place. Delete per past AfD, nor so he does meet WP:NMUSIC. — SimpleObjects-9ei 🍂/🌰/🤗 (see talk) 21:41, 16 September 2026 (UTC)reply

Keep I would like to bring several additional sources and instances of coverage of FyaVerse to the attention of editors for consideration in this discussion.

I am not suggesting that every source independently establishes notability. I recognise that Wikipedia places particular importance on significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. I have therefore distinguished below between sources that may support the notability argument and sources that are primarily supporting or primary documentation.

  • The Jamaica Gleaner — "J'can-born FyaVerse broadens Caribbean sound" (June 7, 2025). This is the source I believe is most relevant to the notability discussion. The article provides substantial coverage of FyaVerse's music career rather than simply mentioning him. It discusses his debut album Rak Di Wrld, earlier releases and collaborations, "Shatta Gyal", his work with ChevoBeatz, his HDP Music Awards nomination for "Times Dread", and his musical activities in Barbados. I submit this as potentially significant independent coverage for editors to evaluate.
  • The New Times Rwanda — "Jamaican artiste eyes Rwandan market with debut album" (December 1, 2025). This may provide additional support for the notability discussion, although I recognise its limitations. The article contains substantial discussion of FyaVerse's music career, debut projects, international activities and plans involving Rwanda. However, it is explicitly presented as an exclusive interview, so I am not treating statements supplied by FyaVerse as independent verification.
  • St. Vincent Times — "Jamaican artist wins best Zikomo dancehall in Africa." I am not presenting this as evidence of independent notability. The article is explicitly identified as a press release. I am including it as documentation concerning the reported Zikomo award and leaving it to editors to determine whether it has any evidentiary value.
  • FyaVerse's official TikTok account — video showing the Zikomo award trophy. I am not presenting this as evidence of notability. It is a primary source showing the award trophy and is included only as supporting documentation concerning the award.
  • Havana Times — "Jamaica's foreign policy direction and Cuba relations questioned." I do not consider this a source establishing music notability. The article includes a public comment from FyaVerse concerning Jamaica's foreign policy and relations with Cuba, but it is not primarily about his music career. I am including it for completeness and for editors to determine whether it has any relevance under the applicable guidelines.

In summary, I believe the Jamaica Gleaner article is the most significant of these additional sources for the notability question because it provides substantial coverage of FyaVerse's career. The New Times article provides further substantial coverage but is an interview, while the Kenya News article provides another piece of published coverage for editors to assess. The St. Vincent Times article and FyaVerse's TikTok are included only as supporting documentation concerning the award, rather than as independent evidence of notability.

I recognise that the number or geographic diversity of sources alone does not establish notability, and that the relevant considerations are the reliability, independence and depth of the coverage.

I respectfully ask that the article be kept and that these additional sources be considered alongside the existing references before the AfD discussion is closed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeradishere (talk • contribs)

Keep - he charted as an independently named artist on the Billboard Argentina chart, which is the national music chart of Argentina - that's sufficient to pass WP:NMUSIC C2. Jishara (please ping upon response) (talk) 14:22, 17 September 2026 (UTC)reply
@Jishara, the chart claim comes from a Surinamese report about producer ChevoBeatz's song, naming the vocalist "FireVerse", and the Gleaner calls it a track he recorded for ChevoBeatz. That's a guest vocal on a producer's single, not his own charting under WP:NMUSIC C2. Kqol • talk 21:33, 18 September 2026 (UTC)reply
ChevoBeatz is only the producer of the instrumental, in modern dancehall every producer started to credit their name as artist and not just in the label section, FyaVerse is the lead Vocalist of the track and not a guest Vocalist on the producer track Jeradishere (talk) 13:36, 19 September 2026 (UTC)reply
ChevoBeatz’s role as producer should be distinguished from FyaVerse’s role as the track’s vocalist.
ChevoBeatz produced the instrumental, while FyaVerse performed the lead vocals.
In modern dancehall, producers are frequently credited as artists on recordings they produce, rather than appearing solely in the production or label credits. However, that does not necessarily mean the vocalist should be classified as a guest performer.
The Jamaica Gleaner describes the song as a track FyaVerse recorded for ChevoBeatz, while the Surinamese report identifies FyaVerse as the vocalist. These sources establish his vocal contribution, but the question of whether the recording qualifies under WP:NMUSIC C2 should be considered separately from whether he was a guest vocalist.
I believe the distinction between a producer’s artist credit and the lead vocalist’s role should be accurately reflected when evaluating the sources and their relevance to FyaVerse’s notability. Jeradishere (talk) 13:38, 19 September 2026 (UTC)reply

Keep. The case for notability rests on two independent sources that take the subject rather than his employer as their topic:

  • Zeff, Maxwell. "Meet the OpenAI Engineer Leading ChatGPT's Biggest Transformation Yet". Wired, June 11, 2026.
  • Nolan, Beatrice. "OpenAI's new 'super app' boss hopes to persuade users and potential IPO investors that the company is about way more than just chat". Fortune, June 22, 2026.

If the consensus is that coverage concentrated in mid-2026 does not yet satisfy WP:SUSTAINED, a redirect to OpenAI Codex (AI agent) with the biographical content merged would be preferable to deletion per WP:ATD-R. FireflySentinel (talk) 22:59, 16 September 2026 (UTC)reply

I propose merging to Hit by pitch because there is a significant overlap between these topics, and this article only has citations, 2, in the lead, which is very lacking. Hit by pitch does mention beanballs briefly (though it doesn't refer to them as that, which makes sense as this is really just a slang term, the article says so itself), though this article could be used to expand upon that. This person is not notable or significant enough to have a wikipedia article. Failed political candidates in Canada do not get a wikipedia article of their own, or else there would be hundreds of these tiny little articles that are essentially just stating "they're in *insert profession* and lost a race". A lot of the sources are out of date, unobtainable, and there is a section marked "uncited sources" even. This page was made decades ago and would have not been approved of today, so to remedy it and keep it aligned with wikipedia standards today, this article should be deleted. • Delete (reluctantly). As much as I would like to agree with Necrothesp, a fortification requires significant in-depth coverage to be considered notable per WP:NBUILDING. Geographical features cannot inherit notability; thus, a WWI fortification is not notable by virtue of being a WWI fortification. If @DnieperSniper produces a list of more sources I would change my mind (I have notified them on their talk page that they must post their arguments here, and not in reply to the talk page notification from Boynamedsue), but in my search the only reliable source on the topic was a book concerning WWI and the Austro-Hungarian Empire in which it is a passing mention (page 222). This article is a weird duplicate sitting uncomfortably between Full-frame camera (about the digital cameras of the specific 36x24mm format, that can do stills and video), and 35 mm movie film, a well detailed overview of 35mm film videography. The confusion probably comes from how full-frame digital cameras are sometimes called "35mm full frame" because of the film analogy; however in this specific case I believe this is a fork that should be deleted. Maybe the full-frame camera page could use some expansion about video, though. Choucas 🐦‍⬛ 11:25, 24 September 2026 (UTC)reply

Keep per the sources listed below. Whether something is hyper local or not doesn't have any effect on the determination of GNG if the sources meet basic editorial requirements, no analysis of which has been presented. You don't get to simply deny something qualification under SigCov because it's not written by the New York Times. More than 3 sources (exceeding GNG requirements) are 200 words +. 2 of the sources are from the Seattle Times, the city's newspaper of record. I don't see anything that disqualifies it from GNG, unless it's drawn from the fact that the sources aren't present in the article, which we don't pay attention to per CONTN.

The article has an unclear scope and does not establish a clearly defined subject warranting a standalone article. Its content combines the history of the Ryukyu Kingdom, the Japanese annexation of Ryukyu, and postwar questions concerning the islands' political and legal status, without clearly distinguishing these topics. Much of the historical material overlaps with existing articles, including Ryukyu Disposition and Ryukyu Islands. The article therefore raises concerns under WP:CFORK. The sourcing is also inadequate under WP:RS, as numerous historical and legal claims lack inline citations. Given the unclear scope, substantial overlap, and inadequate sourcing, I do not believe the current article justifies retention as a standalone page. I will give you some background: a lot of (mainland) Chinese people are fed up with Japanese interference in Taiwan matters so they decide to retaliate by questioning status of Ryukyu citing some element in the UN founding process as reason. I had stick to Xinhua rather than some random pieces on Guancha.net[1] or something[2] and filtered out the words in the original source that are non-neutral (such as 琉球国的消失,不仅是一个古老文明国家的悲剧终章 that portrays the destruction of Kingdom of Ryukyu in a clear negative light). Unfortunately Western sources pays few attention to rising Sino-Japanese tensions, resulting in lack of adequate good sources as you pointed out; the Xinhua article also don't have web links that I can use as inline citations. I am not an expereinced article writer; the article in this state is poorly-written and not adequately neutral (note these are arguments to avoid in AFD; I believe it is a notable topic in China but if English Wikipedia refuse to agree, then fine; the situation might be exacerbated to warrant Western media's attention in future (the creation of this article is expressly intended to accelerate the process). ibicdlcod (talk) 11:59, 24 September 2026 (UTC)reply
Sources do not have to be online or in-English, and definitely do not have to be 'Western'. They do have to be independent, meaning that using WP:XINHUA as the sole source definitely raises some question.
If this is such an important subject but somehow has no Western sources, what about Japanese sources? This is a clear delete to me if it is just the mainland Chinese government shouting on a soapbox by themselves, as other people does not seem to have noted it, making it not notable. LkL-70547 (talk) 13:40, 24 September 2026 (UTC)reply
I also just noticed the creation of this article is expressly intended to accelerate the process, I hope you have read WP:YESPROMO. Wikipedia moves after the media, not before it. LkL-70547 (talk) 13:41, 24 September 2026 (UTC)reply
Delete The Chinese claims at Ryukyu are mentioned at the Senkaku Islands dispute, possibly they should receive a larger subsection there, but I doubt its own article is notable. Besides, almost nothing in this article would be retained in this case (WP:TNT). Reliable sources () generally describe most of this article's content as a propaganda effort by nationalist factions of the Chinese government. I would urge the creator to get back to creating articles, or gnoming, or whatever, and take their political activism to a social media site. 1brianm7 (talk) 14:10, 24 September 2026 (UTC)reply
Weak delete: I think that if the scope were Ryukyu past 1945, with the historical context only mentioned as needed, then an article could realistically be both educational and non-biased. As of right now, this is written from only a single source with just historical background. There's plenty of academic documentation out there, but until it can be decided that there's a scope to be followed, this article should be deleted. Nominating for deletion on basis of repost to mainspace of the same draft content that I earlier today draftified. Besides the recreation to mainspace issue, this (and the Draft:Swapnil Mahaling I moved) are LLM/AI creations and violate enwiki's WP:AI policy and would need to be fundamentally rebuilt and verified IF a draft on this subject were to be viable, ie, assuming the subject meets WP:V, specifically WP:GNG and WP:BLP (subject failed GNG in 2017). The editor who added these newer drafts also created Draft:SWAPNIL MAHALING (all caps), a few weeks ago, which was declined on basis of WP:V. This earlier draft does not appear to be written by LLM/AI, but it's also a stub.

Outcomes desired:

  • Deletion of mainspace copy on basis of duplicate where draft already present. and/or Speedy G15 deletion on basis of LLM.
  • Speedy G15 deletion of lowercase draft Draft:Swapnil Mahaling on basis of LLM.
  • neutral opinion on the retention of the uppercase draft Draft:SWAPNIL MAHALING, BUT IF uppercase draft is kept, move to lowercase draft title (no redirects) after LLM version deleted.

The Dhaka Post piece is not an obituary, but shares with some obituaries a eulogistic tone uncharacteristic of reliable sources. Amar Desh is a bit better, although over the top in places, such as, "The Hindu community ... used to give him the status of a god' [Google translation]. The first Google Scholar link is to a conference paper, not something that has been peer reviewed. The author is a previously published professor at a significant Bangladeshi university, but the topic is outside his field of Islamic public relations. The other two Google Scholar links are to the same article on different platforms. It is from a journal put out by a predatory publisher (Society for Science and Education), so is not a reliable source. --Worldbruce (talk) 14:56, 23 September 2026 (UTC)reply
Tone is an indication of bias, reliability is independent of it. Conference papers can still be reliable. The third link probably should have been this, but it is also listed as predatory. On the other hand, the authors are employed at the International Islamic University Malaysia and can still be considered experts, whose output is reliable independently of where they publish. (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)

I propose merging to Sunday school because that page already lists "Sabbath school" as an alternative name, with an Easter Egg link on the word "sabbatarian" pointing to this one. However, I'm not an expert in the topic, so if there are sufficient doctrinal differences for separate articles, they should instead be cross-linked more clearly. There's also inconsistency in capitalisation between the two, and I'm not sure if that's deliberate. IMSoP (talk) 12:10, 31 August 2026 (UTC)reply

I am not saying that I would necessarily support a reverse merge, because Sunday School still remains the common name. However, if a merger was done, I wouldn't necessarily object to it. Kind regards, AnupamTalk 21:23, 31 August 2026 (UTC)reply
Rather than talking about "reverse merges", I'd rather look at this as two separate questions:
  1. Are there two different topics which deserve their own articles, or are there just a range of variations best discussed in one place?
  2. If there is only one topic, what is the best name for an article about it under Wikipedia's naming policies?

  • Reverse Merge - Merging Sunday School to Sabbath School makes a lot of sense to me. Sunday is the sabbath for those denominations that call it Sunday School and there is evidence that some in those denominations refer to it as Sabbath School. It appears there is significant overlap in the format and content of the two events and to a layman they would appear to be ostensibly the same. The articles have significant overlap and cover the same ground in places.
BleachPuffin (talk) 16:00, 8 September 2026 (UTC)reply
  • Comment - Where people's opposition is that Sabbath School is not the same as Sunday school for certain denominations, I am not sure this is an argument that prevents merging, we can just have a separate section for the denominations that have significantly different interpretations of how it works. The alternative (and not something I support) is that a new article be created called for example Sabbath School in Seventh Day Adventism.
BleachPuffin (talk) 16:05, 8 September 2026 (UTC)reply

Oppose merge. I can only put a UK perspective, but the UK is an appreciable source of en-wp users and editors. In the UK, the seventh day adventists are an extremely small church, less than 40,000 members, and despite this, they account for nearly all UK Christians who adopt Saturday as their main holy day in the week. As such, and per WP:COMMONNAME, in the UK at least, it's completely inappropriate to do a reverse-merge of Sunday school into Sabbath School. It is quite simple: almost no one calls it a Sabbath School. From a UK perspective we shouldn't change the name used over a very long period by a large number of large denominations, merely to satisfy one small denomination. The other way round, the adherence of the 7th-day Adventists to Saturday as the Sabbath is utterly key to their faith. Moving their school, which clearly does not take place on a Sunday to Sunday school would be insanely illogical as well as downright offensive. So it's much easier to leave things as they are. Elemimele (talk) 16:44, 8 September 2026 (UTC)reply

I understand the sensitivity of the naming, but it feels like there's a leap in logic from "both possible names are problematic" to "keep two separate articles". If there are going to be two articles, what goes in each?
As I said in my initial proposal, I'm not an expert by any means, on this or any other aspect of Christianity. I'm coming to this as a reader: if there is a difference other than the name, Wikipedia currently fails to explain to me what it is.
Both articles discuss how practice varies between denominations, and in fact looking closely I see both articles currently have a section on Methodist practice! So to those opposed to merging, I make this request: please propose how the pages should be structured so that a non-expert can learn from them rather than simply reading the same content twice. - IMSoP (talk) 21:27, 8 September 2026 (UTC)reply
I'd be okay about separating them out, and having this article concentrating entirely on the 7th-day Adventist approach? I'd say if an organisation calls its education-on-the-Sabbath a Sabbath school, put it in this article. If it calls it a Sunday School, put it in the Sunday school article. Elemimele (talk) 09:31, 9 September 2026 (UTC)reply
According to other commenters in this discussion, "separate article for 7th-Day Adventists" and "separate article for anyone who calls it Sabbath School" are two distinct proposals: there are apparently "first-day Sabbatarian" denominations which at least sometimes call it "Sabbath school".
And it doesn't really answer my question: as a reader, who has no background in any of these traditions, what am I supposed to understand from that article structure? If "Sunday school" ends up covering 10 denominations, and "Sabbath school" another 3, what non-duplicate summary will form the lead of each page?
There is a very clear statement of policy at Wikipedia is Not Censored:

Attempting to ensure that articles and images will be acceptable to all readers, or will adhere to general social or religious norms, is incompatible with the purposes of an encyclopedia.

I understand the desire to minimise the offense caused to one Christian group or the other, but I'm still looking for a reason why having two separate articles leads to a better encyclopedia. - IMSoP (talk) 11:30, 10 September 2026 (UTC)reply
User:IMSoP, as we speak, User:Catfurball is edit warring to remove all information related to first-day Sabbatarians from the article in order to make it exclusively about seventh-day Sabbatarian denominations. Oppose reversing mergin Sunday school into sabbath school makes absolutely no sense. I cannot see why Sabbath School could not be a subsection of the much larger and common Sunday school use. 7th day adventists and other small groups having a practice doesn't by itself justify an article or let alone a reverse merge. Then you should add that to the article, for many of the references that you added are not verifiable. And by the way reference one that you added does not work. Catfurball (talk) 20:32, 10 September 2026 (UTC)reply
There are a number of references that are books, which you can check out from your library if you wish to learn about the history of Sabbath Schools. Not all references are websites. AnupamTalk 20:40, 10 September 2026 (UTC)reply

Support – Even if they're different, the concepts are best understood in the context of the same article per WP:PAGEDECIDE. Keeping the information is two separate pages is just more confusing. FaviFake (talk) 10:54, 11 September 2026 (UTC)reply
  • Comment - I completely agree that the concepts are best understood in the context of the same article. As @IMSoP said on 1st September, given there seems to be no appetite for merging in either direction and retaining one of the article titles, we could look to follow TITLEVAR and decide on a title that is amenable to the varying denominations that this issue is pertinent to. Perhaps something along the lines of "Christian church based education".

Yes, if the information must be merged to a single article, giving it a generic title using neither the words "Sabbath school" nor "Sunday school" would avoid the problem. I would recommend providing redirects to the new article from both the old locations. One of the issues the new article will have to address is the sheer diversity of how the terms are used. They range from very formal educational situations to something that's nothing more than a kid's club to keep small children happy while the parents do a more boring form of worship! • Comment: As the article title seems to be playing a part in this, I just want to make it clear to editors here that if the merge happens in either direction then a requested move is all but guaranteed to result in the title ending up being "Sunday school" per WP:COMMONNAME (see Ngrams comparison). –Maltazarian ᚾparleyinvestigateᛅ 04:52, 16 September 2026 (UTC)reply
  • Support: The two are substantially the same concept, and can only be meaningfully distinguished for the minority of Christians who meet on Saturdays instead of Sundays, in whose case "Sunday" school would be a misnomer. With that being said, there doesn't seem to be a good name for the merged page. "Sunday school" is not the correct name for those Saturday-meeting churches, whereas "Sabbath school" is too technical and not commonly used outside of SDA. A generic name is also not ideal given that pandenominationally "Sunday school" is overwhelmingly the commoner name. Ashorocetus (talk | contribs) 08:51, 18 September 2026 (UTC)reply

Relisting comment: I am seeing consensus that we should not have two articles here, and also a consensus against a reverse merger, but a lack of consensus as to whether "sabbath school" should be merged into "Sunday school", merged into Seventh-day Adventist Church, merged into a retitled Sunday school article, or something else.

  • Merge under nominator's proposal. I'm confused why this would be merged to Seventh-day adventists, when they are not the only denomination discussed on this page (though I do acknowledge they are the primary group to use this wording). An alternate title is against policy per WP:COMMONNAME - yes, the SDAs may use a slightly different name, but they are just one small-ish group, and a neutral title will almost immediately be contested. Reads like a fan page, contains WP:OR and prose sourced solely to primary sources. Unable to find WP:SIGCOV. PROD challenged as it "may be notable" but no policy-based reasons to keep were put forward. C679 03:38, 24 September 2026 (UTC)reply

That's not a policy-based argument for keeping. As the page creator, please explain how the topic meets WP:GNG. C679 07:54, 24 September 2026 (UTC)reply

Article does not provide evidence of meeting WP:NBIO (significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject) - citations are mostly self-published.

Also not seeing a strong case for WP:CREATIVE - his major works, including Binary Revolution Radio, Digital DawgPound, HackTV, and DocDroppers, don't seem to have significant independent secondary coverage. I put in this nomination a month ago, closed as delete: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Digital DawgPound (2nd nomination). It looks like the arguments in the first AfD for this article (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/StankDawg) were mostly along the lines of WP:CREATIVE, including for his articles in 2600, but that work doesn't seem to meet the current criteria.

I searched for the person's name, handle, and project names in Google, Google Books, Google Scholar, Newspapers.com, and a basic Wikipedia Library EBSCO search, and did not find much. Brief coverage: 2004 opinion piece, page 271 in 2011 book, page 39 in another 2011 book. Dreamyshade (talk) 01:31, 24 September 2026 (UTC)reply
