Photo & Video: Ugandan Feminist Strips Naked To Protest Being Locked Out of Her Office

Ugandan feminist, critic, researcher and lecturer at Makerere University, Dr. Stella Nyanzi, this morning stormed her office and went naked in protest after she was allegedly thrown out of her office by her superior, Prof. Mahmood Mamdani. In a 17 seconds video clip, the mother of two can be seen as she undresses, putting her bare breasts to the camera and raining curses at President Museveni.

She claimed her boss was forcing her to teach at the university while she was only contracted to do research work and not teaching. She later went on Facebook to post the video and captioned it:

“I have thrown my clothes outside Prof. Mamdani’s office. I am naked as I cry out for my office." She also chained herself before the university gave in to her demands and let her back to the office. She was initially removed from her office after she refused to teach in the MPhil/PhD program.

Nigerian Gays & Lesbians Protest At The Nigerian Embassy In London

Nigerian Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transsexual & Inter-sex in Diaspora held a rally yesterday, Thursday, 20th February, 2014 outside Nigerian High Commission, London, to protest the Same Sex Marriage Prohibition Act signed into law by President Goodluck Jonathan.

According to them, they had to come together to say No to this atrocious law and its blatant violation of their human rights.  They also delivered a protest letter to the Nigerian High Commissioner. In the spirit of Love
that February is famous for, they hosted a kissing spree outside the embassy as they said Yes to Love and No to Hate. See more pics below:

Police Barricade Unical Gate, Stop ASUU Strike Protest in Calabar

Hundreds of heavily armed police drafted from formations around Calabar, the Cross River State capital on Monday barricaded the main gate and other entrances to the University of Calabar to stop members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU from carrying out a planned city walk.

The police, led by an Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of operations, , Nnange Itam took over the entrances to the University of Calabar as early as 6am to carry out what they called order from above. (More Pics after cut).

8,000 Women Protest Over Lack of Husband in Zamfara

On Friday September 27, 2013 crowd of about 8,000 women took to the streets in Zamfara state, to protest over lack of enough men to marry. They pleaded with the state’s Shari’a Board, known as Hisbah Commission to assist them to get men to marry them. The women said they were not living a normal life and needed husbands to become whole.

The women were made up of 5,380 divorcees, 2,200 widows, 1,200 orphans and 80 others, and they were all looking for men to marry.

They also needed assistance to purchase household items such as beds, mattresses and other basic necessities needed to move to their husbands’ houses.

Protest Against Olu of Warri Rages

The Delta State Governor, Dr.  Emmanuel Uduaghan,   has appealed to thousands of Itsekiri  protesting the bid by their  monarch to jettison their  traditional beliefs  to remain calm, saying he was already meeting with stakeholders   to resolve the matter.

Uduaghan, who arrived the palace at about 3.45pm on Sunday, was met by the surging protesters, who appealed to him to mediate in the crisis.

An online news portal, THE WILL, reported that the   governor, was   allowed into  the palace without  his security aides,  came out after about 15 minutes to address the protesters.
