Nigerian Dies in Italy After Racist Attack

Nigerian migrant was beaten to death in a racist attack by a right-wing football fan in a central Italian town, officials said Wednesday.

Emmanuel Chidi, 36, was walking with his girlfriend in the heart of the small town of Paolo Calcinora on Tuesday, when they had racial abuse heaped on them by the supporter of a local football club, the Agi news agency reported.

That led to an altercation and Chidi was brutally beaten on the head until he fell to the ground. He never recovered consciousness and died in hospital on Wednesday.

Ms Julie Osamese felt a little feverish when she walked into the Ospedale Maria Vittoria Cibrario Hospital in Turin, Italy sometime in November 2008. Her only complaint was a slight increase in body temperature, and that she explained to the doctor who attended to her. Tests were conducted, following which she was given medication to use and instructed to return for evaluation after a week.

But her second visit to the hospital could be described as the greatest mistake of her life. For this Nigerian lady, it marked the beginning of years of woe.

 It was the beginning of years of trauma during which she was moved to six other hospitals.

Augusta Uwamanzu-Nna, valedictorian of a local Long Island high school, has been accepted to all eight Ivy League schools according WRIC reports:

Oluwaseun Samuel Fajilade, a 29 year old Nigerian with both male and female sexual organs has cried out for help. Seun, an indigene of the western Nigerian state of Ekiti is a hermaphrodite who would love to be operated upon to keep only his male organ since he’s not menstruating. 

He reached reached out to online news medium SimonAtebaNews through a foundation for help. Born on 16 March 1987 as a male, Fajilade realised that breasts began forming around his chest when he was between 12 and 15 years old.

Ify Egypt Ufele is a 5th grader who turned her negative bullying experience into a positive for herself and for other curvy little girls. Egypt “Ify” Ufele is fusing her African heritage with American styles to fight bullying. 

People: A 10-year-old fashion designer is using her experience as a victim of bullying to kickstart her career.

Egypt Ufele, who goes by “Ify,” tells Today that she was repeatedly picked on for her size at her grade school in Queens, New York.

“I was bullied and they called me all kinds of names,” she says. “One time I got stabbed with a pencil.”

Nigerian Couple in the US Accused of Holding Woman Captive for Years

US Federal prosecutors have charged a husband and wife from the Katy area with holding a nanny against her will for years, abusing her and not paying her to work. 

Special agents with the Homeland Security Investigations Houston Human Trafficking Group have been interviewing the couple, family members, and the victim.

Chudy and Sandra Nsobundu were arrested Monday morning. They live in the 6400 block of Arroyo Hill Court.

Both of them appeared in federal court Tuesday. The judge released both on bond.

Troops on patrol around Delwa and neighbouring communities (in Borno state yesterday Wednesday July 9th) successfully broke through insurgents’ ambush 35kilometres to Maiduguri as they advanced to dislodge insurgents who were massing up in the area.

The fierce fire fight that ensued as the troops wadded through the ambush left scores of insurgents dead, while 3 soldiers died in action. 7 soldiers who incurred various degrees of injuries have been evacuated for treatment while the troops have continued with their mission.

Nigerian Troops Clear Terrorists Bases in Balmo Forest

Troops have cleared and taken over Balmo forest in a military operation that lasted throughout the weekend.  Prior to the operation, terrorists as bases and hideouts for launching attacks used Balmo forest stretching from Bauchi through Jigawa States with links to the fringes of Sambisa forest.

Terrorists and armed gangs operating in the forests were completely rooted out while some were captured during the operation.  Among those captured were two foreigners who are suspected to be mercenaries.    Also captured are several weapons and equipment including power generating sets, communication equipment, vehicles, motorcycles, foodstuff and kitchen utensils.

Boko Haram Release Video Which Claims To Show Missing Nigerian Girls

A new video issued by Boko Haram claims to show some of the nearly 300 schoolgirls missing in Nigeria, who the group's leader says have converted to Islam.

AFP reported that Boko Haram's leader said the girls would not be released until members of the terror group being held in prison are freed.

More than 300 youngsters were abducted from a school on April 14 from the northeastern town of Chibok, in Borno state. Some 276 are still missing.

In the video, Abubakar Shekau speaks for 17 minutes before showing what he says are about 130 of the girls, wearing full-length hijabs and praying in an undisclosed rural location.

Nigerian dupes American lover of N52.5m

The Special Fraud Unit of the Nigeria Police Force, Ikoyi, Lagos, has arrested a 29-year-old man, Henry Ogu, for allegedly defrauding an American citizen (name withheld) of N52.5m ($350000).

His accomplice, 42-year-old Yunusa Okonkwo, was also arrested in connection with the fraud.

A statement by the SFU Police Public Relations Officer DSP Ngozi Isintume-Agu, said the unit had received a petition via email from  Ogu’s victims.

It read, “The victim, a US citizen resident in New Jersey, alleged that sometime in April 2013, she met Ogu on a dating site and both started a relationship which lasted for months until the suspect manipulated and made her to believe that he was in financial trouble in Nigeria.

Nigerian Nabbed With Heroine Concealed in Lady’s Shoes

A Nigerian has been arrested in New Delhi, India with heroine concealed in a lady’s shoes.

The 23 year old Nigerian, Odeomenan Kenneth Ozioma kept the heroine, weighing 330grammes in specially made cavities in the shoes, meant to be sent by courier to the United States.

“The heroin weighs 330 grams which is worth Rs 70 lakh(about $120,000) in the international market. The arrested man has been identified as 23-year-old Odeomenan Kenneth Ozioma. He was nabbed by a team led by DCP Bhisham Singh and ACP Zile Singh,” additional commissioner, crime branch, Ravindra Yadav, said.

The Times of India reported that police received a tip-off on April 14 about a Nigerian drug trafficker coming to Janakpuri Metro station.

“A team laid a trap and apprehended him. During investigations, 330 grams of heroin, cleverly concealed in the specially made cavities in the soles of women’s sandals, was recovered from his possession. He disclosed he was heading to Mahipalpur to courier the drugs to the US,” DCP (crime) Bhisham Singh said.

Nigerian Drug Scourge: NDLEA Indicts Ethiopian Airline

Two suspected drug traffickers held by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have blamed their friend for luring them into the criminal act. Even as the agency said Ethiopian airline has become synonymous with the illicit trade.

The men were apprehended for attempting to export 4.285kg of methamphetamine to India. According to spokesperson of the agency, Mitchell Ofoyeju, the arrests took place at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos during routine search on passengers boarding Ethiopian airline flight to India. The substance that tested positive for methamphetamine is valued at 68.5 million naira.

The drug according to the NDLEA Airport Commander, Mr. Hamza Umar was hidden inside a brown luggage. The names of the suspects are Eboro Joe Okwudili, 41 years old and Opara Daniel 30 years old. Hamza explained that “Eboro was the person travelling while Opara Daniel was assigned to monitor Eboro to avoid diversion of the drug. During screening, the drug was discovered in his luggage at the baggage checking desk”.

Thailand Arrests Nigerian With Drug Hidden in Anus

A Nigerian staying illegally in Thailand for 14 months has been arrested on both immigration and drug charges after officers found crystal methamphetamines hidden in his anus.

A suspiciously acting Godwin Chinedu Agbarakwe, 35, was stopped by Pattaya Tourist Police on a Third Road side street on 24 February. A cavity search of his person revealed the drug in his anus.

Police said Friday that the suspect claimed he turned to selling drugs when his clothing import-export business failed.

Officers said the Nigerian entered Thailand on a three-month visa on 8 September 2012.
He’s been overstaying that visa since 8 December, 2012.

The world marks the 14th International Sex Worker’s Rights Day, Nigerian sex workers have joined their counterparts in some countries to demand for legal recognition of their trade as a job.

Some of the prostitutes say that the time had come for the Nigerian government to grant them their due recognition and further recognize that as human beings trying to keep body and soul going, the ‘profession’ should be considered legitimate enough to put a stop to its discrimination and stigmatization.

Though many of them did not realize that a day like this was set aside for them until they were told, they also called on rights activists to assist them gain the desired recognition.

Jealous Nigerian Husband Stabbed Wife As She Slept Jailed for 12 Years

Oluwabusayo Abegunde, 38, found out his wife had been going out drinking and clubbing with another man after looking at photos and messages on her Blackberry.

A jealous dad-of-two repeatedly stabbed his wife after finding out she was having an affair from her phone.

He launched the savage knife attack just two days after Valentine’s Day as wife Esther Abegunde, 33, lay asleep. She had earlier told him their marriage was over and moved into the spare room.

Businessman Abegunde repeatedly stabbed her with a large kitchen knife while their two sons, aged eight and four, were downstairs in the family home on Hollybank, Droylsden.

Nigerian Gays & Lesbians Protest At The Nigerian Embassy In London

Nigerian Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transsexual & Inter-sex in Diaspora held a rally yesterday, Thursday, 20th February, 2014 outside Nigerian High Commission, London, to protest the Same Sex Marriage Prohibition Act signed into law by President Goodluck Jonathan.

According to them, they had to come together to say No to this atrocious law and its blatant violation of their human rights.  They also delivered a protest letter to the Nigerian High Commissioner. In the spirit of Love

Five Nigerian Policemen Slump On Parade Ground

Five officers of the Nigeria Police Force slumped at the Police College, Ikeja, during a parade to mark the pulling out (retirement) of senior police officers. The event, which lasted for about two hours, was held in honour of seven retiring officers, made up of two AIGs and five commissioners.

Midway into the ceremony, a policeman slumped and was quickly attended to by the paramedics, who later carried the man away in an NPF ambulance. Almost immediately after the incident, three others, including a woman, also slumped. Paramedics, who attended to them, gave them sachet water, which they drank and also poured  on their heads.

The fifth man that slumped was taken out of the parade ground by the medical team.

Nigerian Woman Disowns “World’s First Gay Cat” For Displaying Same Sex Attraction

HuffPo reports: That a Nigerian woman is making some eyebrow-raising headlines after reportedly disowning her cat for “an unnatural sexual behavior” — allegedly, same-sex attraction.

As the Nigerian newspaper Leadership notes, the woman (identified simply as being middle-aged) rid herself of Bull, whom she owned for seven years, after the cat was deemed to “be in the habit of making sexual advances” only to other male cats in the household.

“By this, the cat has made a record as the first cat to be so publicly declared gay and disowned by its owner,” writer Donatus Nadi notes in the article. As for the cat’s disgruntled owner, she would only add, “Anybody interested in this gay cat can have it because I have no further use of it.”
