Glam punk?!

Punk has everything to do with Hanoi Rocks, - Hanoi Rocks never recorded any heavy metal songs, but plenty of punk rock songs. They identified themselves as punk rock and rock n roll band, never as heavy metal, never as hair metal either. It is rather pointless arguing with another editor over 15 years after the event! In any case it is somewhat irrelevant what any particular editor thinks/believes, as genre(s) is determined by what reliable sources state. See WP:V for further advice. At the Hanoi Rocks article there are four genrers shown in the infobox; Hard rock, glam rock, glam punk and glam metal. Date of birth

AllMusic reckon that his date of birth is 17 June 1960 as per here. It may not be correct, although the currently shown detail (17 June 1962) does not appear to be supported by a reference. Major copy edit completed

Hi to all those with an interest in this article. I have done what I think is a comprehensive copy edit, although it involved very little deletion or re-ordering. Even though the original copy edit tag mentioned 'tone and too much detail' as requiring attention, I found that the article was very much in the style and level of detail of many musical articles. Consequently I have been loathe to delete much detail at all. Many fans seem to thrive on it. Perhaps another editor may be bolder. All the best. Dropbear2 (talk) 06:32, 6 July 2026 (UTC)

Correction on Michael Monroes ethnicity.

I have corrected the incorrect information of Mr Monroes ethnicity. He is not a Swedish Speaking Finn, but a Finnish Speaker, He said that himself in a fairly recent (2025) interview on the Lipps Service videocast. He also went to Finnish speaking schools as a child and a youth: Ressun koulu for instance. Someboduý might have the Hanoi Rocks members mixed up, as the Swedish Speaking Finn in Hanoi Rocks is Nasty Suicide, born Jan Stenfors. The lead guitar player Andy McCoy, born Antti Hulkko, also speaks Swedish, as he lived in Stockholm for many years in childhood. Anton Vaaranmaa (talk) 07:07, 5 August 2026 (UTC)
