Minutes of Meeting
[edit]- Most of the audience question the verification of the source that Wikipedia cited.
- We explained that Wikipedia is a place for initial research by using the reference cited at below of each page.
- They also question why Malay Wikipedia not so good.
- We explained that because of lacking of supervisors and professionals in certain topics are why Malay Wikipedia are not really good. So this is why we try to collaborate with archives and libraries. We want to find any volunteers from each professional to supervise any Malaysian-related topic.
- From this meetup, we discussed that we need to find the way around for sharing any copyright materials to fill in any Malaysia topics that really lack in Commons.
- Andrew or Fuzheado, gave his speech on Wikidata really got the audience attention on how other thing they can do, especially archiving thing in digital form.
- With the technology that Wikidata team already developed, we discussed that we can integrated the data in National Library into Wikidata system. Still some copyright materials need a way to get it free as citation resource.
- If this collaboration is a success, any sources for Malaysian topics will be increasing.
