Duchess Meghan Is Seen for the First Time Since Moving Back to England—With Ellen DeGeneres
The Sussexes are officially back in the United Kingdom, and while Prince Harry has been attending public engagements as if he had never left, Duchess Meghan and their kids, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, have remained out of the spotlight. That’s why it came as such a surprise when today, Meghan was photographed for the first time since the move. The duchess looked breezy as ever in her quietly luxurious California staples: a sky-blue button-down, slim white jeans, and aviator sunglasses.
She was all smiles while on a quiet stroll in the Cotswolds—a charming, nature-filled region of England, about two hours outside of London, known for its storybook villages. And who was Meghan with in the pretty town, you ask? None other than Ellen DeGeneres.

The former actress and the former show host have been friends for years, having run in the same Hollywood circles in Montecito, California, where the Sussexes lived up until a few weeks ago. DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, relocated from Montecito to England—specifically the Cotswolds—at the end of 2024, following Donald Trump’s re-election (a big contributing factor for them).

It was just last month when we learned that Harry and Meghan would be moving back to England for the time being. A reason for the move has not been given, but Harry recently voiced his excitement at being closer to his charities and projects, particularly his WellChild Awards (which took place this September 21) and his Invictus Games—both which he founded in London.
Meghan continues to run her lifestyle brand, As Ever, and Archie and Lili have already started school in England. So it’s official!
The last time the Sussexes lived in the U.K., their home was Frogmore Cottage, but their new English residence is not royally-owned, reports state, as the two are no longer working royals.
Harry and Meghan’s move comes just a few weeks after the they paid a private visit to King Charles III and Queen Camilla, marking the first time the Sussex kids had seen their grandfather in four years. Per People, the king learned of the couple’s intentions to relocate to the U.K. just days before the news was announced, and he “welcomes the opportunity to see more of the Sussex family in a private and personal capacity.”
