Giada De Laurentiis reacts to brutal “DWTS ”scores after heated argument with pro partner during rehearsals

Giada De Laurentiis and her pro partner, Alan Bersten, looked visibly stunned after receiving incredibly low scores on Tuesday’s episode of Dancing With the Stars.
The celebrity chef, 56, and her partner could be seen wincing and covering their faces with their hands after judges Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli awarded Team Aldente just 12 points out of 30 for their so-called spiceless salsa to the tune of “Bella Ciao” by Becky G on “Viral Hits Night.”
When asked by cohost Julianne Hough about their score, De Laurentiis replied, “I think, obviously, it’s… it’s disappointing. But, hopefully, people will vote for us, and I’ll get another shot!”
The pair ultimately earned the lowest score of the evening, tied with Guillermo Rodriguez and Witney Carson.
But that wasn’t the true boiling point for Team Aldente. The shocking score came after a pre-recorded package revealed that De Laurentiis and Bersten clashed during dance rehearsals.
“What comes before this again?” De Laurentiis asked the pro at one point, with Bersten sternly replying, “You know it!” The chef, in response, looked skyward and gave a big sigh.
Bersten later chided the former Food Network star for “not locking in for some reason” while practicing her movements.

“We only have so much time to go slow,” an emotional De Laurentiis exclaimed in another clip. To which Bersten responded, “I’m the person with the least amount of patience, and I’m trying to tell you let’s be patient.”
Eventually, the pair were able to get in sync, with Bersten joking, “Should we start doing group therapy?”

Julianne asked De Laurentiis about the “healthy friction” between her and Bersten showcased in the video package after their dance.
“I think I tend to go faster, and I need to learn to slow down,” the Giada at Home host elaborated. “It is not fast. In my head it’s fast, but it’s not. And I think I realized that towards the end.”
She continued, “And he’s like, slow down! You need to enjoy it, don’t run through it. So, that’s my lesson to be learned.”
Dancing With the Stars airs Tuesdays on ABC and Disney+ at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
