“Hereinafter officially called Super Intelligence”: Trump pushes for renaming Artificial Intelligence in UN speech, says US documents will use SI
On September 22, President Trump announced the new name for Artificial Intelligence, which will now be called ‘Super Intelligence’ during his speech at the UN General Assembly. The POTUS clarified the nation’s stance on AI, now SI, during the latest speech. He said that they have no plans to control Super Intelligence. The president also said that the word ‘Artificial’ in AI made it sound ‘fake.’ He called it ‘amazing’ when used carefully. Trump said:
“The United States also totally rejects any attempt to construct a globalist scheme to control the artificial intelligence being spoken of so much now, hereinafter officially called super intelligence, changing the name, and that the use of the word artificial makes intelligence fake. It makes it sound fake, and it is not fake. It's actually amazing, but we have to be careful. In fact, it is exactly the opposite of what it purports.”
The president also added that going forward all the documents of the US will use this new name for AI as it sounds more ‘accurate.’
“From this point forward, all of the United States documents and hopefully the world's will be changed to use the much more accurate term super as opposed to artificial. So, it's super intelligence. In other words, welcome to the new world of super intelligence- SI. Let's see if that goes. It sounds much better. It is much better. And it is much more accurate,” the president added.
Trump highlighted concerns around AI
Further in his speech, the president also opened up about the concerns surrounding the growing use of AI, saying that every new technology has new challenges.

“Every major new technology brings challenges. And super intelligence is no exception,” he said.
Trump dismissed the concerns that AI and robots might harm or attack humans. He said:
“Yet the very same people who said we'll all be dead in 12 years because of global warming. A name since reborn as climate change because the planet was cooling, not warming. And nobody was dead. These are the same people that are now saying that AI is going to kill us all, that robots are going to attack us, and that everything is going to be a total disaster.”
Trump said that the Department of Justice and other enforcement bodies will closely watch over the proper use of Super Intelligence.
This isn’t the first time the POTUS has shown support for AI. In his earlier interviews, he dismissed the notion that AI could lead to job losses. Instead, he asserted that it would generate millions of jobs and businesses globally.
