SoFi Technologies (NASDAQ:SOFI) shares traded near $17.31 in Tuesday afternoon trading, up +$0.34, or +2.00%, from the previous close of $16.97. The rally extends a strong stretch for a company that has staked its brand on helping consumers improve their financial fitness. The move followed SoFi and Mastercard (NYSE:MA) making stablecoin settlement live across SoFi Bank's debit and credit card program.

1. Today's trading range

SOFI opened at $17.44 and traded between $17.01 and $17.97 during the session. The stock was holding above its prior close by afternoon, though it was off the day's high. The intraday range showed an early pop and a later pullback from the session peak.

2. Stablecoin settlement is live

SoFi and Mastercard said stablecoin settlement is now live across SoFi Bank's debit and credit card program. A stablecoin is a digital token designed to track the value of a traditional currency, often the U.S. dollar. Settlement is the final movement of money after a card transaction.

3. A $25 billion program

SoFi said the launch moves its full $25 billion card program to blockchain-based settlement using SoFiUSD. The company said the card program is expected to process more than $25 billion in annualized volume through SoFiUSD. Transactions are live on the blockchain.

4. First-bank claim matters

SoFi said the launch makes it the first national bank to go live with stablecoin settlement across Mastercard's network. SoFiUSD is issued by SoFi Bank, a national bank regulated by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and is fully redeemable 1:1 for U.S. dollars. The token is backed primarily by cash reserves and is available for institutional use and SoFi members.

5. Crypto exposure stays limited

SoFi offers crypto trading, its SoFiUSD stablecoin, and blockchain-based payments through a partnership with Lightspark. The company's net crypto revenue totaled $2.0 million in the first half of 2026. That small base helps explain why crypto rallies can influence sentiment without immediately changing the company's financial profile.

6. Podcast bull case

On a recent episode of The Deep End podcast, Brad Freeman, Shay Boloor, and Tannor Manson outlined a bullish case for SoFi, and all three confirmed long positions in SOFI. Freeman compared buying SoFi at current valuation levels with buying Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD) or Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) at cyclical bottoms. Manson also said management has projected 30% revenue growth and 40% earnings-per-share growth over the next three years.

7. Credit data in focus

Manson said SoFi has expanded to 16 million members and more than $45 billion in deposits. Freeman cited 90-day delinquency rates of 0.40% and an annualized charge-off ratio of 3.7% as evidence of credit-book resilience. A charge-off is a loan the lender no longer expects to collect in full.

Bottom line

SOFI was higher Tuesday as the market weighed a live stablecoin-settlement rollout against questions about how much crypto infrastructure can add to SoFi's core business. The company built momentum by lowering the barriers to start investing, and crypto settlement could extend that same accessibility into digital assets. Market watchers are focused on transaction adoption, credit trends, and whether deposit-funded lending remains a cost advantage.
